Astro Protocol Is Launching This February on Steam

Explore the Galaxy in Astro Protocol

Null Vector Studios has announced that Astro Protocol, its upcoming turn-based 4X strategy game, will launch on Steam in February 2026, with support for Windows, Linux, and macOS. You can check out the official trailer below to get a glimpse of the sci-fi journey ahead.

Designed as a focused and tactical take on the 4X genre, Astro Protocol promises to deliver deep strategic gameplay in matches that typically last around an hour. Players explore a procedurally generated galaxy, uncover mysterious anomalies, colonize and terraform planets, construct space stations, and advance through three randomized research branches. Combat unfolds on a one-unit-per-tile hex-based map, where positioning, planning, and careful decision-making are critical. Victory can be achieved by completing key objectives or by outlasting and overpowering rival factions.

The game features six distinct playable factions, each with its own mechanics and strategic strengths. Not only that, there are more than ten minor factions that you can ally with for specialized bonuses. With over a hundred technologies, a randomized tech tree, and more than a hundred anomalies offering unpredictable rewards, every campaign presents new challenges and opportunities.

Also, another unique part is that resource management extends beyond planet ownership. Colonized worlds enable the construction of space stations that harvest resources from nearby asteroids and celestial bodies. Specialized planets and stations grant adjacency bonuses, allowing players to build complex production networks across the galaxy.

In Astro Protocol, success depends not just on controlling planets, but on mastering every tile and station in your expanding interstellar empire. So, prepare yourself for this amazing galactic adventure by wishlisting it right now on Steam.
